AI receptionist · General contracting

An AI receptionist for contractors that answers while you are walking a job site.

Forward your line while you are meeting a sub or checking a pour. Your agent takes down the project, the rooms, the timeline and the address, turns away work you do not take using the scope you give us, and sends you each inquiry with a recording. From $297 a month.

You will talk with an AI assistant. We record and transcribe the conversation.

Example conversation After hours, remodeling
  1. Forge VoiceFlint Orchard Construction, after-hours line. You are talking to an AI assistant on a recorded line. How can I help?
  2. CallerWe are thinking about redoing our kitchen, and maybe opening the wall to the dining room.
  3. Forge VoiceI can get that to the team. Where is the house, and when are you hoping to start?
  4. CallerIt is on Belwood Road in Calhoun. Sometime this spring.
  5. Forge VoiceThank you. Do you have plans or a designer yet, or is this still an idea?
  6. CallerJust an idea so far.
  7. Forge VoiceGot it. I have noted a consultation request for a kitchen remodel. The office will call you to set up a visit, and you can talk through the wall then.

Consultation request noted for the office

A written example of a call, to show how one goes. It is not a recording, and Flint Orchard Construction is a made-up business.
When the calls come

A day of calls on a contractor's line.

Remodel calls come when a household has talked it over: after dinner at the kitchen table, on a Saturday walk through the house. Current clients call in the evening after they stop by the site. A new inquiry wants a consultation. A client mid-project wants a straight answer, and your agent is honest that it cannot see the schedule.

Example calls, by the hour they come in Calhoun, GA

An example day with the shop open from 7 AM to 6 PM. 5 example calls are marked by the hour they come in; they are listed below.

  1. 6:30 AM Subcontractor

“Tell the project lead the drywall delivery moved.”

Takes the job, the message and a callback number.

  2. 1:45 PM Homeowner

“Do you take on bathroom remodels?”

Answers from your scope and takes a consultation request.

  3. 7:00 PM Homeowner

“We want to open up the kitchen wall.”

Takes the idea. It never says a wall can come out.

  4. 8:20 PM Current client

“Can someone call me about the cabinet order?”

Takes the message. It cannot look up the order.

  5. 9:50 PM Homeowner

“Do you fix a single sticking door?”

Says what your scope covers and takes a message if it fits.

Examples of the calls this trade gets, not real calls. Hours shown are an example. Lime is when Forge answers; calls in open hours reach it when you forward your line while you are busy.

Straight answers

What it does for general contractors and remodelers, and what it will not do.

Your agent can

  • Answer while you are on site, meeting a sub or driving between jobs
  • Take remodel and addition inquiries with the rooms, the timeline and the address
  • Turn away work you do not take, using the scope you give us
  • Take messages from subs and suppliers for the right project
  • Send each inquiry to your inbox as a written summary, set up on request

Your agent will not

  • Say whether a wall can come out or an addition will work
  • Answer building code, permit or structural questions
  • Look up project progress, deliveries or a sub's schedule
  • Price a remodel or a change order beyond the prices you give us

Questions

Questions general contractors and remodelers ask first.

Can it screen out work we do not take?

Yes, from the scope you give us. If you do remodels and additions but not small handyman repairs, it says so politely and takes a message if the caller wants one. It does not decide whether a project can be built.

Will it tell current clients what is happening on site?

No. It cannot see your schedule, deliveries or subs. It takes the client's question for your project manager, and a written summary can go to your inbox, set up on request.

Can it give a ballpark on a remodel?

Only prices you give us. It cannot estimate a remodel from a description or price a change order. It takes the project details and a consultation request for your estimator.
